Tooth Gems: Crystal jewelry for your smile.

Tooth gems are tiny crystals professionally bonded to the front of a tooth. They sparkle in light, can be removed at any time without damaging the enamel, and have become one of the most-asked-for services at Piwan Dental.

The questions everyone asks

Everything you might wonder about tooth gems.

What is a tooth gem?

A tooth gem is a small Swarovski-style crystal — or a precise diamond, where requested — bonded to the surface of a healthy tooth using the same dental adhesive system that holds orthodontic brackets. It sits on top of the enamel; the tooth underneath is untouched.

Is it safe?

Yes, when fitted by a trained dentist. We clean the tooth, apply a thin adhesive layer, place the gem, and cure with UV light. There is no drilling, no enamel removal, and no permanent change to the tooth. When you decide to remove it, the gem comes off cleanly.

How long does it last?

A well-fitted gem typically stays in place for 6 months to several years. Brushing, flossing, and eating are all normal — just avoid biting directly into hard objects with the gem tooth.

How long does the appointment take?

From walk-in to walk-out, around 30 minutes. The actual fitting takes about 10.

Will it set off airport metal detectors?

No. The crystal is non-metallic.

How much does it cost at Piwan Dental?

Tooth gems at Piwan Dental start from UGX 80,000 per gem. Premium gems and specialty placements may price higher. Mobile Money, cash, and card accepted.
